Overview:
The Staff Accountant is a primary task performer and go-getter for all accounting services within the company. This person will work closely with Senior Accountants and the Managing CPA in a supporting role in servicing the firm’s clients. The staff accountant may work within one or more teams (Tax, Bookkeeping, Payroll) to improve their growing knowledge base with the goal of being cross-trained on many different platforms.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related program
- CPA accreditation is preferred but not required
- 1+ years’ experience in Public or Private Accounting
Qualities and Characteristics:
For the Staff Accountant to be successful they need to display a basic but growing understanding of accounting principles within their team (Tax, Bookkeeping, Payroll) but also the ability to work with clients and staff in a way that elevates the firms’ values. This person should have at least 1 year of experience in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and/or payroll processing. They should have an exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Preparation of individual tax returns for review (Tax)
- Preparation of simple S Corp, Partnership, C Corp, Estate and Trust tax returns for review (Tax)
- Completion of client bookkeeping and financial statements (Bookkeeping)
- Completion of client payroll, payroll tax payments, and filing of compliance returns (Payroll)
- A basic understanding of accounting software used by their team (QuickBooks, Payroll Relief, Ultra Tax, Fixed Asset CS, and Practice CS)
- Must have a sense of urgency to complete tasks timely
- Ability to manage workflow with some supervision
- Able to conduct basic research on client questions and problem solving before going to management
- Supporting role in client meetings and ability to communicate with clients regularly via email and video conferences
Location:
Full-time, hybrid, remote, or onsite position based on location.
